Putting an image background on a website is a tricky technique that most often than not leads to a page of clutter if not eye-sore. If done correctly, though, it could encapsulate the company's image as whole.
Right, web design, I agree with you. Often times, that large image background contributes to a slower loading speed, and more than that, that annoying color scheme and tears you up on the inside (assuming you have quite a knack for designs).
